One of Street Fighter’s most talented veterans is jumping back into the fray as a member of Shopify Rebellion.

NuckleDu is one of the best modern Street Fighter players. He had an incredible run in the mid-2010s, with back-to-back-to-back wins at Combo Breaker from 2015-2017 and a total victory at the Capcom Cup in 2016. He is well-known for his unorthodox but formidable Guile.

In 2020, fellow pro fighting game player, Dual Kevin, tweeted that NuckleDu had been in a car accident. Shortly after, NuckleDu tweeted that he was retiring from pro play and leaving social media. Not long after that, NuckleDu would return to the Street Fighter League. Despite this, NuckleDu has been relatively off the radar for the last three years. That ends today.

Shopify Rebellion has announced that NuckleDu has joined the organization. This is the first time NuckleDu has been with an org in over four years.

In a short video accompanying the announcement, NuckleDu states he’s been away and focusing on being a family man. But now the Guile main is back and right on time for EVO 2023.

NuckleDu has put on a solid chunk of content since his return, and throughout the summer, he competed in various tournaments and added some more first-place finishes to his belt.

To celebrate the occasion of NuckeDu’s return, he will be hosting Shopify Rebellion’s monthly Arm the Rebels Cup. Open to everyone, the Arm the Rebels Cup will have a $30,000 prize pool and $2,500 pot bonuses. Winners of previous Cups will have the chance to earn $5,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to EVO 2024. More details about the upcoming Arm the Rebels Cup are forthcoming.

Welcome back NuckleDu!
